The Cannes Film Festival is over – but not in our hearts and, most importantly, not on our Instagram accounts!
We still keep on seeing such beautiful looks and, really, it looks like there’s no limit to the magic. From the jury’s president Cate Blanchett, stunning in her Givenchy outfits and makeup looks created by her makeup artist Mary Greenwell, to Elsa Hosk in all Golden-Hollywood attire, with a Marilyn-like blond bob and diamond collier, everyone was just how we expected it to be (even better). Of course, we loved each and every look of Kristen Stewart, the real protagonist of this edition, surprising and charismatic: once rocking an amazing matte red pout and the day after being stunning in a Chanel glittery smokey.
It was a good ride, indeed, and we finished this festival with a lot of beauty inspirations. But, while we wave au revoir to the spotlights of La Croisette, we’re trying to recreate that rose-gold shade that we saw on Hailey Baldwin’s eye or the vinyl red lips by Joan Smalls. So let’s take a look to some of the looks that we loved, envied and screenshotted on this 71st edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

Marion Cotillard
Photocall for “Angel Face”
______________

The entire look signed Chanel Beauty was conceived by the famous French makeup artist Christophe Danchaud, who had already worked with Marion on various occasions, while her blond hair, in a simple sleek-back bob, was styled by Perrine Rougemont. The center of this elegant makeup was, of course, the stunning red matte lips, Rouge Chanel, ça va sans dire, perfectly matching the blue and white dress; her eyes were dramatized by a thick, black cat eye and black lashes, in a perfect French allure that made us think of Paris. The base was fresh, natural, and we loved the balanced result between the sophisticated, classic lips and a skin that seemed untouched by anything but a very good skincare preparation.

Hailey Baldwin
“Girls of the Sun” premiere
______________

The model was wearing a gorgeous dress by Roberto Cavalli and decided to go for a dewy, bronze infused look with a kick of rock and roll on the eye, while her rose hair (totally envy those!) were knotted in a messy-chic topknot on her head. The makeup was done by Robert Sesnek, who totally nailed the golden and precious vibes of the dress, matching it with a sun-kissed beauty look. The cheekbones were carefully and deeply chiseled using bronze powder and a cold nuisance of pink blush, that made Hailey’s complexion radiant while sharpening her traits. The nude lips, the bronze-y and warm tones of rose-gold on the lids and the generous highlighting on the high points of Hailey’s face, matched with a cold shade of peach on the cheeks: everything was absolutely on point.
And the hair! We love those Met Gala pink hair.

Emilia Clarke
“Solo: a Star Wars Story” Premiere
______________

Kate Lee created an amazing makeup for our favorite Queen of the Seven Realms, matching a fairy-tale-worthy purple gown made in Dior.
The Chanel celebrity makeup artist took her time prepping Emilia’s skin for the look, using, among the others, Luminous Dewy Skin Mist by Tatcha for the perfect skin and the Baume de Rose (By Terry) in order to soften the lips, before applying the soft shade “Carezza” of Dolce Matte Lipstick (Dolce & Gabbana, of course). Of course, also the flawless base was created using DG foundation, while on the eye, to match the dress, Emilia had a very soft shade of lilac painted on the entireness of the lids.
Emilia’s blonde hair was tied back, enhancing her beautiful face and leaving all the attention to her huge, sun-shaped earrings, and was styled by Jenny Cho using R+Co. A makeup that wasn’t too scenographic, then, but it was royal enough to match the lovely personality of the actress who, for all of us, is really, in some measure, a queen with dragons.

Toni Garrn
“Burning” Premiere
______________

Elie Saab Fragrance face Toni Garrn was gorgeous in an Elie Saab back dress with golden embroideries, which was matched with a ponytail by Hairstylist Antoine Wauquier and makeup by Sarah Atallah.
Sarah decided to focus on the lips, painting them a deep, cold red, while leaving Toni’s blue eyes natural: they were just framed by long, black lashes, in fact, a touch of modern taste in a look that might’ve come across as a bit dark and heavy. Another wink to the modern taste of cosmetic was the glass skin, radiant thanks to a long prepping rather than a lot of foundation. The cheekbones were brushed with a veil of contouring to enhance Toni’s features, yet the effect came out very subtle and natural. Red lips, nude eyes, and glowing skin then; in perfect harmony with the style of the Parisian makeup artist, who knew how to highlight Toni’s natural beauty, but with an extra kick of nobility and grace.
The princess-like look was completed by a diamond collier by Messika.

“Solo: A Star Wars Story” premiere
______________

Previously, Toni had already mesmerized the crowd on the red carpet with a nude and romantic makeup by Jenna Kristina, matching it to a sexy shiny gown by Roberto Cavalli. The lips were of a soft rosy pink, matched with a bright shimmery eyeshadow that was blended into a matte shade on the crease and outer corner of the eye, creating two wings that gave strength to the gaze without resulting too dark. The look was completed with a stronger contouring, with a peachy blush and a bronze tone on the lower part of the cheekbones.

Kristen Stewart
amfAR Party 2018
______________

On the occasion of the amfAR Gala, at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc, Kristen rocked yet another priceless look, after the blue eyeshadow and the heavenly, white eyeliner with mini-pearls dotted on the upper lash line.
For the charity gala, the actress had a dewy, flawless skin and a classic (but far from boring) look by Beau Nelson, that matched bright crimson lips to a luminous eye makeup. The green of Kristen’s eye was enhanced and by the cold tones of metallic turquoise and silver, abundant in the inner corner of the eye to make the gaze bright and lively. The icy nuances on the inner corner of the eye were blended into a darker shade of matte taupe moving forward through the outer corner, following the shape of the eye. The gaze was further dramatized by the black eyeliner on the lower lashline.
A colorful and playful makeup by Chanel Beauty, then, matched with a just as lively hairstyle by Bridget Brager, who let a single curl to fall on Kristen’s face, while the right side of her hairstyle was adorned with long pins— white and bright, of course.
