Beatrice Picca Piccon, an accessories designer, has turned the philosophy of “Make it simple but significant ” into her personal style, thanks to some vintage pieces and French inspirations that make fashion timeless, even in its simplicity.
Nice to Meet You, I Am: Beatrice Picca Piccon, and I’m an accessories designer. Through my Instagram profile, @beatricepiccapiccon, I express my great love for aesthetic and beauty, in whatever form I can find it in my everyday life.
Location: I’m working in Florence right now, but I was born and raised in Turin. However, I consider Milan as my “home” too, a little bit because my family comes from there, and a little bit for its being my general inspiration.
Trend: I cannot say that I have ever followed a particular trend because I strongly believe in having a personal style that can represent me better than any definition. Fashion is my greatest passion, I love its history and I think that understanding its dynamics is a must to better understand the world in which we live, but when it comes to my closet is a whole different thing. I would define my style as classic, vintage-inspired and with that French allure that other people often see in me, even when it’s not intentional.
I love the elegance, the effortless chic, and the silent femininity of French women: I believe that personality and charm are what makes the difference in taste and style and that simplicity is the key. My mantra is “Make it simple, but significant,” from my favorite period drama, “Mad Men.” I always try to keep it in my mind when I choose what to wear every day.

#Inspo: I have always been fascinated by the evolution of costume and fashion over time, and by keeping in mind my favorite decades I try to create vintage but contemporary outfits at the same time, which emphasize a relaxed and effortless style. I love cinema, and in particular how its history has always been intertwined with that of fashion, and my passion for old movies leads me to look for inspiration in them. Lastly, looking at who I meet every day and to the class of some people is, in my opinion, the best source of ideas.
The Touch of Style: My favorite thing is to mix my clothes with accessories or vintage dresses, which maybe have belonged to my grandmother or to my mother: whether it is a bag, a scarf or a cardigan, it requires fairly little to change the attitude of a look. We do not need to emulate what you see on others, we have to be aware of what we really like in order to create a personal style and therefore choose carefully what to buy. When you are in doubt, it is better to remind that less is more.
How I like to Wear it: A ’80s bag, a tailored blazer and a shirt represent what I would choose every day, along with jeans with a nice cut and super minimal but feminine boots. But also vintage earrings with a turtleneck sweater, a skirt, and ballerinas. However, I always wear red nail polish, I just can’t help it. Better if it’s then combined with a similar shade of lipstick.

Trendspotting: Keira Knightley or Marion Cotillard are among the women I admire the most for elegance and beauty, I think they could both wear with nonchalance my kind of style.
Your Favorite Fashion Book: I’ve got three: “Dior – Catwalk” by Alexander Fury, a beautiful present I recently got, “Shoes: A Celebration of Pumps, Sandals, Slippers & Mor” by Linda O’Keeffe and “A Century of Fashion,” my first fashion books. They are both worn-out because I’ve read them again and again over the years.
Steal Style: Audrey Hepburn is my favorite icon ever, but even Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and Jane Birkin.
Your Fashion Superpower: I hope one day to have the perfect wardrobe, with all those pieces I would never be tired of. I feel I’m on the right path.
