Spring and summer make us wish for a change in our wardrobe: from heavy and dark colors and texture, to lighter and colorful fabrics. But when it comes to make-up, the question of colors is more difficult. Wearing colors on the face is not always easy. For lips it has become a huge trend, but finding the right tones for the eyes it also means to find the right shades and create a perfect balance.
Diego Dalla Palma’s new Spring / Summer 2017 tempts us with the color purple, in all its finest shades.
About the collection and the woman who wears it, they write, “She is famous throughout the world because, first, she succeeded in making food and fashion accomplices while dominating colors, style but also taste and smell. She creates calm clouds of white dishes that express themselves with fuchsia and purple. Then she chooses the heliotrope on the lips and mauve on the eyelids.”
Giada’s skin (the model), requires a soft, lightweight product. The make-up artist used then the fluid lifting effect concealer (n. 100). It has excellent coverage, and it is only to be used on areas of the skin where there are blemishes or imperfections: it’s recommended especially for the warmer seasons where you want to avoid the heaviness of the foundation on the entire base.
Blend it with a foundation brush by taking a small amount of product and thereby obtaining a more natural result. If you want then a product to be used on the entire face, the new collection features a BB Cream, “5 actions in 1” that moisturizes, brightens, it’s anti-oxidant, covers imperfections and it’s UV resistant. Once applied, the product feels like a second skin, giving a natural complexion and a healthy glow effect.
In the new collection we also find a cream blush that has to be applied on the cheeks giving a natural and healthy effect to the skin gifts.
Then apply the powder with a feather duster, thanks to which you get a longer duration. Make-up artist tip: use it to fix all the products in cream used so far, even on the eyelids.
On the eyes it was used the eyeshadow duo of the collection: cool colors of pink and purple shades, which are a bit eccentric, able to attract attention on the eye-look, with discretion.
In the case of Giada, the area that requires the darkest shade (purple) is the crease of the eye, while the lighter shade (pink), on the entire upper eyelid. The pink color can be applied even in the inner corner of the eye to give light and color, but only if before we have used a concealer, otherwise the contrast with the dark circles will make it all gray.
To apply the purple, you should follow the line of the crease; it is recommended to apply it from the outside because being the first step the brush contain more eyeshadow, and therefore the final effect will be darker and intense.
Then the eyeliner, a beautiful purple color that stands out. The best way to not make it too thick is to draw the line not on the skin, but on the roots of the lashes, to create a fine line. The make-up artist applies it with a movement from outside to inside.
And to finish the eyes look, a purple mascara on the lower and upper lashes: a magnetic look.
The lipstick can also be used without pencil because it has a nice, creamy and full texture. The advice is to apply the lipstick without creating the perfect contour of the lips and then finish it all with a lip brush.
And here is the finished look: natural base, colorful make-up eyes but at the same time delicate and creamy matte lips. Now we are ready to rock our spring look!
