Cinema News – Can It Be Christmas Already?

From Rebecca to her husband actor Daniel Day-Lewis: we are definitely not ready to say goodbye to his talent, so we are still hoping that he might change his mind and not retire after all, yet we cannot wait to watch what is supposed to be his last film, “Phantom Thread”, which will have a limited release on Christmas day.

To wave him to retirement is director Paul Thomas Anderson, who had previously directed the British actor in There Will Be Blood for which Day-Lewis had won his second Oscar. What an incredible reunion to say farewell from the big screen to one of the greatest actors of all time.

Nicholas Hoult and Drake Doremus

After only a couple of years British actor Nicholas Hoult and American director Drake Doremus are back with a new film: Newness, a drama romance that had its premiere early this year at the Sundance Film Festival. The movie deals with the contemporary dilemma of the good and the bad sides of technology, in this case a social media-driven hookup culture.

The two of them had previously worked together on Equals, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival in 2014.
