Caitlin Pope, Australian celebrity stylist, who lives in New York, told us about a passional, bold and sensual trend able to make everyone stand out: the red color.

How did your passion for styling begin?

My passion for styling started in my first year of college when a friend couldn’t make her internship one day at a magazine but didn’t want to let them down so asked me to cover for her. I was hooked immediately and enrolled in fashion college right away.

What was the best styling of 2017 and what will be for you a trend in 2018?
__________
In 2017 everyone really embraced streetwear and street culture in a way that broke down a lot of barriers and welcomed a lot of new influences to the fashion industry. In 2018 I think that openness will continue and that this year size inclusivity will be the main focus. It is great to see models of all body types not only modeling but there’s also amazing clothes out there for every body-type now too.

Can you tell us a memorable experience with an actress/actor or model that you curated the style for?

I love working with Sofia Resing for all of her events. Sofia embodies glamour and elegance in a really modern way. Clients like that are always fun for a stylist. I love putting together any black tie looks for her as she always lets me push the boundaries. I love the Unitas Gala look where she wore a Jeffrey Dodd black jumpsuit and the Angel Ball Gala where she looked sublime in a purple metallic Maria Lucia Hohan gown.
A style I Curated: I love to style my girls in red!
#Inspo: I think it’s so feminine and glamorous for events and lets a girl stand out in a crowd.
Styling Tip: I would advise people to always review an outfit one last time before they walk out of the door and take something off from the ensemble. People tend to overdo it and with such a loud color the outfit can easily distract from their beauty. If you pair it back just in one small way you can shine through a bit better. So perhaps it’s less dramatic makeup or smaller jewels.
My Favorite Way to Wear it: I love to keep it clean and cool. A simple shoe and bag so the girl can seem effortless.

Trend Spotting: I think anyone suits this color. I love the idea of a brunette wearing red so I would love to see Ashley Graham wearing red on the carpet soon.
Your Favorite Fashion Book: The Grace Coddington‘s Memoir. She is such an inspiration to me.
Steal Style: I love the supermodels of the 90’s.
Your Fashion Superpower: In reality, I make people feel like the best version of themselves but in a fantasy world superhuman strength to lift all of the suitcases to fittings!
