In “Tre Passi Indietro” (“Three Steps Back”), the protagonist looks at her love story the way you look at certain forgotten photos: the ones that reveal everything, even what didn’t seem to matter at the time. The couple’s life unfolds in a fragile balance made of drifting apart and finding their way back, of distances that help them understand each other and closeness that sometimes feels overwhelming.
It’s an intimate, pared-down, honest tale, where tiny gestures become a mirror of the entire emotional landscape of a relationship. One step forward, three steps back: it’s within that imperfect rhythm that we learn what we really need.
