RIHANNA
______________Beauty Icons 2017 Best Look: Fenty Beauty Launch in London
Style: Shine Bright Like a Diamond

Now that she finally runs her own cosmetic brand, RiRi is unstoppable!

Beauty Icons 2017

This year was definitely won by Fenty Beauty and Rihanna was crowned queen of bold highlighters.
Her make up brand was even nominated as one of the best inventions of 2017 (although we are quite positive that RiRi didn’t invent make up), alongside with sight robots and low-sugar ice cream.
For the London Launch of Fenty Beauty, the famous singer sported a pastel lilac make up: a mix of hazard and cuteness that left us all mesmerized.
We don’t know what we loved most: if her mirror-like lip gloss and the cold shades of her glittery purple highlighter, or the fact that the superstar turned MUA before the event, doing her fan’s make up with Fenty products.

EMMY ROSSUM

Beauty Icons 2017 Best Look: Emmy Awards
Style: Vintage

If you’re into simple, genuine beauty, Emmy Rossum is definitely a name you’ve noticed this year. She showed a flawless glow and taught us the importance of lightweight products: she usually prefers Burt’s Bees foundation and never contours much. If she does, though, she blends in everything to achieve a fresh and clean finish.
A thing she cannot do without? Blush! Emmy defines herself as a blush junkie and never passes on giving her cheeks a touch of color. Furthermore, the Shameless star has revealed this year that she usually does her own make up, bet it for a day or a red carpet.

On the Emmy’s tapis rouge, the actress rocked a vintage look: mahogany hair with ’50s vibes and a soft cat eye. One thing we did love about her eye make up was just how it made her big, dark eyes stand out: the blended and tiny eyeliner added depth to the gaze, with a touch of matte brown on the tail of the eye, while the lashes were long and doll-like. Want a tip for getting her amazing make up? Her nude-pink lips were courtesy of Burt’s Bees creamy lipstick in Blush Basin.

BARBARA PALVIN
______________Beauty Icons 2017 Best Look: Harper’s Bazaar’s 2017 Icons party
Style: Mermaid Look

Is that green we’re spying?
Last September the supermodel, ambassador of L’Oreal, sported on Instagram a luxurious, mermaid-worth green high pony. The model dances on the line between modernity and classic beauty: how can we forget the rich red lipstick she wore during the Giorgio Armani Prive Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2017-2018 show in Paris, or the baby pink princess make up she matched to her Prada gown on the occasion of the AmFaR Gala in Cannes? True, Barbara Palvin has a 10/10 base to work on, but we can’t but appreciate how she makes natural make up look like the most elegant thing ever.

Beauty Icons 2017
At the Harper’s Bazaar’s 2017 Icons party in NYC, Barbara chose a grown-up and sophisticated look: plump and shiny red lips were matched to nude eyes and lightly bronzed cheeks. Her upper lash line was dramatized by a thin trait of eyeliner and the eyebrows were groomed and defined, but the crazy-long lashes were the real protagonists of the beauty look.

BELLA HADID
______________Beauty Icons 2017

Best Look: MET Gala
Style: Classic Chiseled

We can say beyond doubt that Bella Hadid has a one-of-a-kind beauty that never ceases to amaze us.
During this 2017, the supermodel made once again clear her love for a good, bold cat-eyed eyeliner and contoured, dramatized cheekbones: however, we found her to be most beautiful with a monochrome, nude make up.
Remember her at the MET Gala, last May?

Beauty Icons 2017
Mary Phillips conceived a Dior “not too bold” make up to go with the Alexander Wang suit. After a careful preparation with Micellar Water and the Hydrating Sorbet Cream, Mary is ready to get down to business: flawless base, dark bronzer to contour Bella’s sharp traits and a metallic, dark nude lipstick (Dior Addict Lacquer Stick in #420 Underground, FYI).
The absence of heavy make up on the lids, highlighted just by a wet and bright nude nuance, and the crazy-long lashes made her eyes look even brighter, don’t you think?

ELIZABETH OLSEN
______________Beauty Icons 2017 Best Look 2017 Tribeca Chanel Women’s Filmmaker Program
Style: Princess of Simple

Princess of natural Make Up, actress and lil-sis Elizabeth Olsen never ceases to amaze us.
Although she can occasionally be spotted with a darker shade of lipstick (such as during the Ingrid Goes West Premiere at Sundance), we absolutely loved Elizabeth’s palette of nude and simple beauty looks.
Take, for example, the Wind River’s premiere: glittery eyes were matched to a soft, rich pink nude. The result was a subtle note of color and shimmer, while resulting at the same time effortlessly pretty.

Beauty Icons 2017
On the occasion of the 2017 Tribeca Chanel Women’s Filmmaker Program she wore a low-key nude make up: nude peach lips with a shiny finish and long lashes to enhance the green of her eyes. The glow on her lids is granted by a subtle metallic highlighter, but otherwise the face is left matte and natural (using one of her favs, Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra-Light Skin Perfecting).
Very few actresses can sport such a delicate, subtle beauty look with her grace, resulting in an elegant and flawless no-make up make up.

JENNIFER LAWRENCE
______________

Beauty Icons 2017

Best Look: Mother! Premiere in London
Style: Ever-Changing

Jennifer Lawrence may look and act like the sweet (and a little clumsy) girl next door, but she’s definitely one of the best and brightest of this year’s beauty world.
We know that Lawrence is one of us when it comes to going shopping without much make up on…however, the Hunger Games star has shown us two very different sides of her Red Carpet look. The first one is a bold choice of rich and dark nuances, with dark smoky eye, long lashes and oxblood lips (as seen during the Paris Premiere of Mother or at the Venice Film Festival, when MUA Fulvia Farolfi matched pink lips to a black smoky).

Beauty Icons 2017
But JLaw can also sport romantic looks like a princess: for the premiere of Mother! at the Radio City Hall in NYC, Jennifer wore a bright, pink eyeshadow. It’s in London, however, that she made us fall head over heels for her make up: strong highlight points, a palette of glowing nudes with a point of brown-ish smoky eye and glossy lips.
Kudos!Beauty Icons 2017

ELLE FANNING
______________Beauty Icons 2017 Best Look: Opening Night, Cannes Film Festival
Style: Innocent & Pretty

The former Hollywood enfant prodige has been radiant through this 2017, sporting different looks while maintaining a soft and delicate image. This Spring she’s been nominated Face of L’Oreal Paris, a brand she has always loved (her favorite doll-like mascara, in fact, is produced by the famous brand). For her, make up is creativity and inspiration.

Beauty Icons 2017
Elle admitted to Vogue that she often forgot to take out her make up before going to bed when she was in High-school, but now she has a religious beauty routine: sunscreen for her fair complexion, moisturizer and Vaseline for cleansing the make up (which it’s rumored to be particularly good for waterproof mascara).  Our favorite look of Elle was sported during the Cannes Opening Ceremony.
The things we loved most about her low-key princess make up were the strong eyeliner game and the lively lipstick, Color Riche 288 in Intense Fuchsia, in contrast with an even, simple base.
A fresh and simple look for the beautiful Elle who, once again, has shown us that in innocence lies and incredible beauty.Beauty Icons 2017______________

YARA SHAHIDI
______________Beauty Icons 2017 Best Look: Emmy Awards
Style: Golden Allure

There are two things we love most about Yara Shahidi: her gorgeous smile and her luxurious curls. She loves almond oil for keeping her hair shiny and untangled, Glossier’s Boy Brow for full brows and Nars’ concealer because, like everyone else, even she has bad skin days. This year Yara has been standing out for her crazy-beautiful glow and for slightly anticipating one trend that’s destined to go big also next year: metallic make up. Yara’s skin has a natural shine that comes from an intense and wise skincare routine.

Beauty Icons 2017

For the Emmy Awards, however, Yara rocked a soft make up to go with her Prada dress: her MUA Emily Cheng chose a full Chanel make up look, with a long skin prepping. The best details of her red carpet make up? The blurred winged eyeliner, obtained with black eyeshadow to soften the usual rigidity of the pen-kind liner, and the touches of shimmery cold on the inside of her eye corners. The same shade was applied to her cheekbones and upper lip.
So…Yara, how do we get a glow like yours? RSVPBeauty Icons 2017

LILY ROSE DEPP
______________Beauty Icons 2017 Best Look: 2017 WWD Honors event
Style: Rock’n’Roll

The 17 years-old face of the Chanel Coco Rouge Gloss Line has already a signature style, which she stays true to while experimenting with colors and looks. One thing that makes her immediately recognizable is the strong smoky eye and the long cat eye she likes to flaunt, matching it with a nude and simple face (the star confessed she loves brow and lips pencils). We remember her during this year’s Cannes Film Festival, with amazing golden lids and thick cat eyes, or at the MET Gala, when she dramatized her eyes with a feline flick.

Beauty Icons 2017

At the WWD Honor Event, Lily-Rose rocked our favorite look of the year: a high ponytail and a flawless makeup that we absolutely loved. Sculpted cheekbones and a touch of pearly highlighter on the cheeks create the perfect base for her, keeping the fresh allure of the young Depp intact while enhancing her traits. She rocked a glittery smoky eye, which looked incredibly modern and shiny: we loved the tiny tails of the smudged out eyeliner and the icy metallic of the inner corners of the eye, blurred on the entireness of the lid.
The lips were mirror-like, shiny and of a pretty pink, leaving the eyes to be the protagonist of the make up.
Can you guess who signed her look?

MARGOT ROBBIE
______________Beauty Icons 2017

Best Look: London Premiere of ‘Goodbye Christopher Robin’
Style: Is that yellow?

Two words about our winner: Margot Robbie.

Why does she deserve a crown of her own? Three reasons should be enough.
First: she liked natural products before they were cool, and revealed that in Australia they were used way before we even thought of exiting in our drugstore reality.
Second: her religious skincare routine, even when she’s traveling. She can’t do without Peter Thomas Roth complexion correction pads and Caudalie’s face mist, to keep her skin even and soothed even when she’s stuck on a plane for hours.

Beauty Icons 2017

And, last but not the least, the bold, almost crazy make up she sported during the London Premiere of “Goodbye Christoper Robin”. Who but the beautiful Margot could match a light pink blush to a matte, full-yellow eyeshadow on the lids, blurred into a soft orange on the crease and under the lower lash line.
Everything, after that beauty look, was just plain boring…JK 🙂
